Refined Jute Non-Woven:

Jute is known as 'The Golden Fiber' thanks to its natural luster that remains even after processing. It is a long, soft vegetable fiber that is surprisingly strong and has an inherent anti-static quality that makes it easier to work with. Jute is often considered the world's second most important vegetable fiber, second only to cotton. It's mainly grown in Southern Asia, parts of China and Southeast Asia. Jute is 100% bio-degradable and is often considered to be one of the most environmentally friendly crops as it has so many uses, thus reducing the impact on other, less sustainable natural resources. In addition, Jute grows widely in more critical environment such as loamy lands that won't be suitable for other crops and thus prevents soil erosion and protects the environments. In the same area of plantation, the amount of oxygen released by jute is 4 to 5 times of that released by forest. Jute has seemingly limitless uses. People continuously discover the new application for this wonder crop although its full potential has yet been unlocked.

Traditionally, the best grade jute fibers are weaved into jute rugs and other furnishings, other grades of jute find their way into ropes, sacks, agricultural textiles or soft, protective packaging in situations where jute natural breathability is a key attribute. Starting from the turn of the century, with the introduction of the technology of bulk handling and the advent of synthetics, jute has suffered a decline as a packaging material. On the other hand, against the background of growing population in the producing countries, jute cultivation has become less remunerative to the farmer, when compared to the income derived from food crops grown in the same season. These factors have led to the dramatic shrinkage of jute grown areas which threatens jute to fulfill its true potential as an environment friendly product.

It was 4 years of endeavor in the making, the first refined commercial jute non-woven product become reality in 2007 that opened the doors for jute to more applications. It resolved the very difficult issue in refining coarse jute fibers. With the advent of the first refined jute non-woven bag in the same year, Think Green Promo has built the whole industry chain from plantation to end products, forming the core competitive advantages in the promotional bag industry.
